Born in Trois-Rivières (Québec) in 1964

Self taught, Josée Lord has been painting since a very young age. The warm tones she uses give the precise shape of the still life that it creates so well.  Lord says that she needs direct contact with matter, that she likes to touch the painting to breathe life into it.

Lord's success is based on the passion she communicates with her brush. Her spirit captures texture and shape, stores patterns on matter, and is particularly touched by the uneven nature of forms.

She knows very well the objects and things handmade, which are visually interesting. She begins to work by making a sketch on the canvas, then she gives free course to her imagination. Freedom allows Lord to externalise her emotions. her still lifes are marked by a singular style, a radiant declination of warm colors or bursting of reds, opaque blues.

Her treatment of expressionist colors is enhanced by the gestures of great measure. In this way, her subjects, her flowers spread quivering of beautiful colors, as if their creator had given them distinct personalities, to be better decipherable. The work of the talented Josée Lord is found in numerous collections of private works of art and companies around the world.
