Claude Langevin

Claude Langevin was born in Montreal in 1942. At the age of 21, he dropped out of medical school to devote himself entirely to painting. He then travelled through Quebec and confirmed his attraction to landscapes. His stay in Charlevoix will be particularly revealing to him.

Nature and its diversity are inexhaustible sources of inspiration. In love with the mountains, he tirelessly paints the Laurentians. He also remains faithful to the Charlevoix region, where he often returns to lay his easel.

This artist, in the tradition of the painters of the Group of Seven, whom he admires very much, does not hesitate to plant his easel outside, regardless of the climatic conditions, to accurately capture the light and the peculiarity of a site. And if his paintings have a little taste of nostalgia, it is because Claude Langevin wants to witness an era and the guardian of Quebec's picturesque heritage.

Now exhibited in galleries across the country, his paintings are highly appreciated by collectors who recognize in him the mastery of light and the maturity of the confirmed painter. His works are also present in many public and of course private collections.
