Of dual nationality Cynthia Coulombe Bégin was born in Miami in 1984 and grew up in Quebec City, where she followed to earn a bachelor's degree in visual arts in 2006.
Cynthia uses the artistic and sports training taught by her parents from an early age to develop her own language. In particular, dance serves her to develop her personality and aesthetics related to the body, which she exploits in her art. In 2006 Cynthia began her professional artistic career at the Marius Barbeau Museum with her first solo show, Body Traces. She combines her experience with exhibitions in various galleries and private companies, awards and collective events between Miami and Quebec City
Inspired by the body and the experience of humanity, Cynthia Coulombe Bégin's creative approach consists of the reconstruction of the organism in fragments through a highly sensitive approach that offers a reflection on our identity and existence. Referring to the body and its evolution, its degeneration, its mutation, she develops her pictorial research marked by her interests in the performing arts, the effects of spaces, organic forms and their inner strengths. Through her works, the artist presents her thoughts on the soul and matter, consciousness and the universe.
