Eric Tardif

Born in Kamouraska,  it is through the creation of photographic atmospheres bordering on figuration and abstraction that he sought to translate the impression of wide open spaces and endless horizons.

Having first chosen Natural Sciences as his first passion, he later studied arts, including sculpture, to explore his talents. More and more he decided to express his vision of things and it was in the context of his sculpture classes that he came up with the idea of linking the dimension of movement and space. Through his research and discoveries on a technique of bending wood with steam, an avant-garde and non-traditional technique in Quebec, he has arrived at a singular mode of expression where the movement of his work seems to be in all lightness. He has received scholarships from CALQ and SODEC for several years.

Eric works mainly in wood but has been interested in bronze for a few years. He also continued his work of mixed techniques (photo, collage, etc.) that he had abandoned for some time.

He has more than a hundred exhibitions around the world and his works can be found in a dozen galleries in North America.
