Guy Boudro

Guy Boudro was born in Sept-Isles, Quebec, Canada, in 1967. He currently lives and works in the Montreal area. In his youth, Guy studied all possible art forms, including sculpture, painting and screen printing. His studies in industrial design gave him the perfectionism and meticulousness needed to create his current works.

Heavily influenced and inspired by the work of Warhol, Lichtenstein, Haring and Rosenquist, he spent several weeks in New York visiting the lairs of the great pop artists. Boudro has always felt in tune with the energy and rhythm of New York and has developed his unique pop style during frequent stays in the Big Apple by creating a series of images of yellow taxis, the very symbol of this city he loves.

Subsequently, Guy began incorporating brand logos and popular art icons into his painting, mixing superheroes and comic book characters. All in the colorful and colorful style that brings to life the current themes of his collections. Boudro expresses his passion for the complexity and level of detail of his compositions in the form of mosaics, puzzles and - as he calls them - "Comic Stripes".

Recently, Guy explores the possibilities offered by vinyl records and stamps, to bring his humour and fantasy to life. His style combines the roots of pop art with surrealism through unexpected juxtapositions and dreamlike compositions.
