Pierrette Joly was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, in 1948.
From an early age Pierrette Joly was passionate about creation, and in particular painting. In fact she had dreamed of being a painter since the age of ten. It took a little over her being twenty years old for her to finally realize her dream.
It was thanks to the continued support of Mr. Pierre Péladeau, who was her boss and mentor at the same time, that she was able to devote herself entirely to painting. She has participated in various exhibitions and symposiums throughout Quebec, in the Maritimes and also abroad.
An active painter since the early 1980s, she defines her style as impressionistic figurative. She also considers herself a perpetual self-taught artist and finds her inspiration in nature.
In addition to her passion for painting, Pierrette Joly teaches all those who for the love of art wish to learn to paint. Her passion is contagious and her students have often become very good artists who evolve in galleries.
