Sophie Thibault holds a bachelor's degree in psychology and a certificate in information and journalism from the University of Montreal. Her career really took off in 1988, when she joined TVA. After years in the field, she was entrusted with reading the news during the Oka crisis in the summer of 1990. She becomes a relief reader for Hi, Hello! and the 6 and 11 p.m. bulletins.
In 2002, she became the first woman in North America to be named anchor of a late-night newsletter. It is at the bar of VAT 10pm Monday to Friday. Her professionalism, her natural empathy and her way of presenting information make her one of the most appreciated readers in Quebec. Over the years, she won 9 trophies at the Metrostar Gala and Artis as Personality of the Year (2003) and Best News Cast Host.
In 2012, Ms. Thibault became involved in a new passion: photography. She became a photo columnist for Le Lundi magazine in 2014 and then for La Semaine magazine. In 2015, Gosselin Photo organizes an exhibition of her photos in Laval and Quebec City to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada. She obtained various professional contracts (restaurants, business cards, shops, yoga studio). She signs the cover of the DVD of Qi Jong by Nicole Bordeleau, as well as the cover of the book on the life of designer Philippe Dagenais (My life in 3D).
Recipient of numerous awards and distinctions, including the Order of Merit of Broadcasting, awarded by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, she is awarded the title of Knight of the Order of the Pleiades of Quebec, awarded by the National Assembly.
