Collection: Serge Brunoni
Serge Brunoni was born in 1938 in Lagny-en-Barrois, France. After World War II, difficult living conditions forced him to leave school and work in factories at the age of 14. Between the ages of 20 and 23, he did his military service in French Equatorial Africa. Back in France, he missed the wide open spaces of Africa. He then decided to move to Canada. He settled in Trois-Rivières in 1963.
A self-taught artist, Serge Brunoni recalls that, from a very young age, he always drew and appreciated the complexity of colors. He created his first works in 1970 and held his first solo exhibition in 1976. Since then, he has held several exhibitions in various galleries in Quebec, Ontario, and France. And his very personal European touch has influenced many young artists.
He died in early 2020, after a career spanning nearly 50 years.
