Collection: Eric Tardif

A native of Kamouraska, son of the Lower St. Lawrence, it is through the creation of photographic atmospheres on the border between figuration and abstraction that he sought to translate the impression of wide open spaces and endless horizons.

Having initially chosen Natural Sciences as his first passion, he subsequently studied art, including sculpture, to explore his talents. Increasingly determined to express his vision of things, it was during his sculpture classes that he came up with the idea of ​​linking the dimension of movement and space. Through his research and discoveries on a steam-bending technique for wood, an avant-garde and non-traditional technique in Quebec, he arrived at a singular mode of expression where the movement of his works seems to be inscribed in all lightness. He has received scholarships from the CALQ and SODEC for several years.

Eric works primarily with wood, but has been interested in bronze for several years. He also continues his mixed media work (photography, collage, etc.), which he had abandoned for some time.

He has over a hundred exhibitions to his credit around the world and his works can be found in around ten galleries in North America.
