Collection: Gail Descoeurs

Gail Descoeurs was born in Montreal in 1962. She was introduced to painting by her father, with whom she spent part of her childhood drawing in fields and forests, where she felt at peace and harmony. When, at the age of 17, she took over her father's easel and began to paint, she discovered her passion for art. But it wasn't until 2006 that she devoted herself entirely to her artistic practice, after having worked as a mechanical designer.

She lives in the countryside, close to nature, from which she draws her inspiration. In her studio, guided by her heart, she uses fragments of her own photographs, dreamlike scenes, memories, and her imagination to create colorful and dramatic scenes. Through her mastery of realism and her ability to simplify her observations, she succeeds in creating a sense of stillness in her works and situating them outside of time.

Gail's works are imbued with an atmosphere of great serenity.
