Since childhood, art has held a genuine fascination for Gérard Lapointe. This interest first manifested itself through the practice of drawing. Supported by a natural curiosity, his training allowed him to approach art with a wealth of knowledge that helped him employ a very precise and methodical development strategy.

Gérard Lapointe initially pursued a completely different profession. However, his passion for the artistic field was such that he began his career in the early 1980s. Since then, he has made countless brushstrokes.

For this man, one can only accurately perceive all the subtleties of color by going to the motif, that is to say by painting in the open air. His gaze stops on panoramas and peaceful countryside scenes where the spontaneity of the moment plays to transform the objective reality of the subject into a more personal vision. It is in the interpretation of colors and their arrangement that he leaves his signature. Color remakes his pictorial world and gives it an additional beauty. Although a certain vigor emanates from his paintings, we find a poetic sense and a certain serenity, borrowed from the magnificence of each of the seasons.

In his pursuit of excellence, he continues to enrich and perfect his technique and art through specialized reading, research and above all through continuous experimentation with new forms and subjects.

Given that painting is for him an expression of the soul in its creative process, Gérard Lapointe wants above all to address the mind through the power of the image and thus provoke emotion. Consequently, he seeks to extract from nature or the subject treated a sense of the universal to initiate a dialogue with the spectator beyond the plastic expression itself, which constitutes an ideal to be achieved.
