Louise Lauzon was born in Montreal on March 8, 1956. At the age of fifteen, her talent was recognized by Brother Jérôme, a friend and collaborator of Paul-Émile Borduas. Heir to Brother Jérôme's innovative pedagogical approach, she led painting workshops at Notre-Dame College for over twenty years. Her artistic achievements also include the creation of several illustrations.

For this artist, painting becomes a deeply intimate activity. "For me, the essential thing is to be present to oneself and each time one picks up the brush, to be faithful to one's interiority, whether it be figurative or abstract."

Character is omnipresent in Lauzon's work; slender, poetic and endearing, they display different attitudes depending on their activities. These numerous characters come to life in very varied places, whether on the seaside, in urban contexts or rural scenes, they always manage to bring a smile to our faces.
