Pierre Bouchard is originally from Lac St-Jean. He studied commercial design and animation. He created several animated films and four comics, then illustrated and published fanzines. Alongside these practices, he became interested in contemporary art and began creating works on his own. From 2008 onwards, his production became more consistent, and he exhibited his paintings for the first time in 2009 under the pseudonym Newjoecool.
