Collection: Pierre Bouchard

Pierre Bouchard is originally from Lac St-Jean. He studied commercial design and animation. He created several animated films and four comics, then illustrated and published fanzines. Alongside these practices, he became interested in contemporary art and began creating works on his own. From 2008 onwards, his production became more consistent, and he exhibited his paintings for the first time in 2009 under the pseudonym Newjoecool. Numerous other exhibitions and fairs followed, exploring themes and concepts one after the other.

First, there is the work of Pierre Bouchard, who explores classic themes such as nature, birds, fish, fruit, and hockey on standard canvases. Conservative in his subject matter but modern in his image treatment, his paintings are refined, the colors vivid, and the gestures spontaneous. Words often appear in spray paint and stencils. Pierre Bouchard mixes graphite, watercolor, oil, charcoal, and spray paint. The subjects are drawn from his life's experiences.

On the other side of the mirror, there is Newjoecool, another identity with which he expresses himself. Linked to the discovery of graffiti in 2008 and the desire to express himself with this language.
