Collection: Sarah McLeod
Canadian sculptor Sarah McLeod expresses herself through the fragile forms of urban wildlife. Cast in bronze, these shy natures, frozen in time, allow us to study their neglected presence.
The realism offered insistently asks us to notice and connect with others.
Working closely with the Atelier du Bronze, the sculptures are cast in bronze and finished with hand-applied colored patinas.
As a Canadian sculptor, McLeod is influenced by Marc-André J. Fortier, Joe Fafard, Paryse Martin as well as the Italian sculptor Willy Verginer. McLeod has a deep interest in anatomy and works tirelessly with structure.
Growing up in British Columbia instilled in her a lifelong interest in wildlife. Her early careers in goldsmithing and the dental industry, where she created gold and ceramic crowns, gave her the ability to focus on minute and precise details.
